Extension for temporary residents applying to restore their status

IRCC just announced that Temporary Residents who are in Canada and had their status expire on or after January 30, 2020 can now apply to restore their status until December 31, 2020. Normally, temporary residents who fall out of status only have 90 days to apply for restoration. This is a great announcement that will help a lot of people!

What’s even more helpful is that work permit holders applying for employer-specific work permits are allowed to work while waiting for a decision on their restoration application!

If you are worried because you lost status in Canada, contact us and we can guide you through this process.
